Project Overview

Abstract/ Clarity of idea

This application is using a virtual environment to present one of the artwork “Forest Reserved” by Latif Maulan. The artwork gives many possibility and imagination that might happen inside the forest. User is going to explore the forest which is illegal logging by some company. There are guard around the forest, user have to go into the forest and capture some evidence and report to the public.

Goal

The goal of the application is to awake people about the harmful forest crime can bring to the environment and human by using virtual reality worlds.

Nowadays the standard of living has been improve, many people are born in a city, there don’t chance to contact with forest, therefore they don’t know the important of forest to the worlds. In this application it will be able users to step into the forest and know some company only care about their own benefit.

This virtual application would allow the user to fully explore the space of the forest. User will be able to interact and getting information of the effect of illegal logging.

Appropriateness of Objectives

- to immerse the user through realistic visuals and audio effects

- to learn the different meaning behind the artwork

- to allow user to easily access the nature forest through web based VR application

- to learn the effect of forest crime to us.

Interaction Description

On the starting page before the user starts the VR application, there will be a brief introduction of the application and also a list of instruction on how the user can navigate and interact with the objects within the environment.

- In the starting point, users will pass the forest, he will meet some animal that will attack him, he have to fight with the animal and pass the forest.

- After users pass the forest to the destination, users will saw the illegal logged places. Users have finds some place and use his camera to capture it. When users are at the point of the places, the system will give a notice to user, so users can capture the evidence.

- After the user complete to the task the system will notice him, users have to escape from the forest, there are guard around the place, and users have to find a road which have no guard at there.
